The first time we decided to meet up in person it was like bumping into someone I’d known my entire life. Their work is getting better and better and if there is anyone right now who I know deserves more plaudits and appreciation of their ability and output, it is her.
We both run Poetry Society Stanza groups now (she inspired me to start one from scratch when she took over an established group) and we talk regularly on the Socials. Every poet needs a Nina in their lives. Tells no lies. Points out your poetry stupidity. Is absolutely BRILLIANT at saying stuff in a sentence it takes me a stanza to manage. TOTALLY PERFECT HUMAN \o/
Seeding
she says maybe another way
with words sometimes hers
often your own
apple pips of beatitude
swallowing too many so
the subtle tree might seed itself
inside and you will never be alone
there must be more accept
too many sublimate their artful poison
arduous knowledge only then will cure
turning every know into an eye
accepting metaphors as real
learning things we both cannot deny
when the green cognition’s sprouting
that indignant river turns re-flows
evolution pouring through the motes
strong boughs bolstering this trust
and as the sun finally comes out
a most effusive person glows
their kindness without question
grows as a panacea precious
mettle of the truest certainty
happy to be at peace as friends
sharing this secret branch
laughing within the leaves
with words joint quality.
